Songs written, releases shared, and bits of inspiration
Hello and welcome to Inside Thinking Outside the Blocks. In this series, we share bits of inspiration and celebrate the creative momentum inside our community.
3 Things We’re Inspired By

1. David Bowie on “Never playing to the gallery.”
A grounding reminder to make work that feels true — and to stay connected to curiosity instead of approval.
2. Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party — Hayley Williams
We’ve been especially into this record lately. The song “Mirtazapine” even became the jumping-off point for our January Block Busters challenge.
3. Strangers on a Bench podcast
This recommendation came from a member (Thanks Bram!) and quickly became a favorite — a beautiful podcast built around human stories. Each episode ends with a song, which makes it especially resonant for songwriters.
