Each month inside Thinking Outside the Blocks, we gather for workshops, feedback sessions, and writing prompts that help us stay inspired and connected. Some events are open to the public, others are just for members, but all are designed to help us keep momentum in our creative lives.

Song Feedback Session with Bess & Allie

Watch three songwriters share works-in-progress and receive live feedback from Bess and Allie. Gain tools for refining your own songs and inspiration from seeing others’ creative process in action.

Monthly Block Busters Challenge
Next challenges: Jan 17-24, Feb 14-21
We provide a rich lyrical prompt plus a musical restriction. You have one week to write or co-write an original song and share it with the group.

How to Create a Dynamic Live Set with Bess Rogers
Tues, Feb 17 at 8pm ET (60 min)

Book Club
A new favorite among TOTB members. We vote on a book, meet on Zoom for discussion, and then write songs inspired by the reading. This is a fun way to connect and spark song inspiration.

Write Together on Mute
Pop-up sessions where we body double, and work on individual songs in a Zoom session.

Weekly Creative Goal-Setting
This ongoing practice helps members clarify their creative goals, identify unhelpful patterns, and build systems that actually support reaching them. It’s a focused, supportive space to take meaningful steps toward the songs and projects you want to create
