Evolving as an Artist: A Conversation with Hannah Winkler

What does it take to grow as an artist while contributing to others’ projects? Musician and songwriter Hannah Winkler joins us for a candid conversation about navigating her solo artistry with her work as a sideperson, and how she stays balanced—creatively, physically, and mentally—through it all. Expect an inspiring and down-to-earth session that invites you to reflect on what balance and growth look like in your own artistic life.
For more than a decade, Brooklyn-based songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Hannah Winkler has lent her voice, musicianship, and quiet fire to other artists’ visions. Now, with her first full-length solo album, she steps fully into her own light—crafting songs that are both emotionally raw and sonically lush.
After touring and recording with artists like Lorde, Ingrid Michaelson, and A Great Big World, Winkler’s solo work arrives with hard-won self-possession. Produced by longtime collaborators Zach Jones and Oscar Albis Rodriguez, the self-titled record blends rock’s urgency, folk’s intimacy, and pop’s melodic pull into a deeply personal portrait of healing and self-discovery.
Released through Grand Phony Music Company, the album places Winkler among artists like Madison Cunningham, Madi Diaz, and Waxahatchee—unafraid to tell the truth with clarity and calm force.
